I cannot recommend Stratford Building Services highly enough. To commit to employing a builder at any time is a leap of faith. To do so during lockdown with all of the restrictions and the problems of supply that Covid-19 created was at best optimistic.

What does one want from a builder? Craftsmanship completed on time and to budget. Stratford Building Services ticked those boxes. Jason’s team, drawn locally, are excellent at their particular skills and work well supporting each other in theirs. They carry out what is asked but have the expertise and confidence to input ideas – which work. They are fun to have on site.

Since moving to Gloucestershire, nearly 50 years ago, I have been responsible for six considerable building projects and this, to be my last, has been the most successful and enjoyable and I have ended up with a ‘retirement’ home that has exceeded all dreams. If I were to win the Lottery I would buy a project so that I could continue dealing with SBS – how many people can say that about their builders?

SBS delivered a swift, efficient and very professional service over the course of 10 months, making a significant change to our house – effectively doubling it in size! The job involved considerable landscaping and new drainage provision on site, prior to adding an extension – circa 1,200 Sq ft and then altering the use of a garage into a bedroom, bathroom and boot room. Further they added a considerable block work and timber structure as an outdoor office, wine room and shed. All this was completed with the backdrop of a Global Pandemic and credit must be paid to Jason and the team in being able to adapt to challenges around building supplies, external contractors etc. Jason acted as Project Manager throughout co ordinating with considerable vision what was a very tricky situation and as previously stated, managing to hit the already tight deadline on time. In short going above and beyond throughout!

To deliver what they did in a short time frame is testament to a lot of hard work and their ‘can do’ attitude ensuring that challenges were always overcome, with a minimum of stress and friction. The team were a pleasure to have on site and we would certainly work with them again in the future
